I have seen some cans of drinks on the supermarket shelves that are able to heat up by itself, ensuring you can enjoy a hot cuppa no matter where you are without having to own a portable stove. Well, how about gulping on an ice cold cup of coffee during those sweltering hot days in the summer? This is now made possible thanks to Joseph Company International, where they will roll out the first self-chilling beverage can in the world that features industry-changing packaging, not to mention being able to help grocery stores reduce their energy expenses as the cans need not reside in the fridge itself. I suppose consumers will not complain, too, although they would most certainly need to fork out a premium to be cool, literally.
This new self-chilling can will be labeled as “West Coast Chill”, where the content inside holds a natural energy drink that has no sugar, caffeine, artificial colors or flavors. It will rely on the award-winning eco-friendly Microcool technology that relies on CO2 reclaimed from the atmosphere and activated carbon from a renewable vegetable source to work together, dropping the can’s temperature by 30 degrees within minutes.
